CHAPTER III - CLUES

Mr. Carter declared that he wasn’t guilty. He said that he had no problems with the Smith’s marriage and that there were witnesses that could declare his innocence. The police came back to the building because they wanted to take the testimony of other neighbours. They decided to analyze the crime in depth.

Some neighbours said that they were in the landing and that anybody left the house through the door à how then?

è Who was (were) the murderer(s)?
è How did he/she/they leave the house?
è Why did he/she/they kill Mr. Smith?

The police took the following notes about the case:

  1. If the door of the bedroom was locked and Mrs. Smith had the keys I think that she is the murderer and it isn't true that she was in the news-stand. We have to analyze the clues that the police have

    1. I agree with you Panchi, but we have to think how she escaped without be seen by the neighbours. Croquettes the corpse of Mr. Smith is under the bed. I think that it couldn't be an accident

  5. I still trust Mrs. Smith. Maybe the murderer was with her at the house before Mr. Smith died and the murderer used chloroform and so Mrs. Smith fainted. I think she´s not the murderer nor an accompliced.
